Athletics Auckland is interested in holding a "Mini" Academy in the January holiday break. Whilst we do not have access to the track due to repairs at Mt. Smart, we can use the John Walker field for Sprints and Throws coaching and the Gym for resistance training.

On Tuesday, we wish to cover the technical aspects of the Throw events, in particular the rotational shot put and javelin (will be using weighted balls and not the actual javelin). Also wish to cover an introduction to gym training for the  junior athlete.

On Wednesday, we wish to cover the technical aspects of the Sprint and Hurdle events. Also wish to cover an introduction to gym training for the junior athlete.

If you are interested in attending one or both of these coaching sessions, please inform Neil Bartlett, the Coach Development Manager at Athletics Auckland via email at  Please provide your full name, club, age and events you are interested in.
