14 April 2018 ACA RELAYS
The ACA Relays, incorporating the Southland Centennial Relay, is on again. This year it is scheduled for 14 April 2018.
There is also a change in location. For 2018 the location will be new to most athletes
Sacred Heart College, Entry via Gate 4 West Tamaki Rd ONLY.
While the course is a brand new one, you will be pleased to know we have retained
Races 1 and 2 at 1 pm,
Race 3 at 2 pm and
Race 4 at 3 pm,
- the traditional flat course – no hills at all this time!
The course is shown on the “ACA Relays 2018 Information Sheet”. Please note that the start / finish area is shown in larger size in the left hand circle.
For Grades U18 and above plus the Walks and Individual events (Races 1, 2 and 4 on the program) we have retained the 2 x 1500 metre laps used last year. The objectives of keeping the race closer to the spectators and give the time keepers a little more work to do worked out really well last year.
The Race 1, 2 and 4 Results Sheet will be the same as for 2017.
This sheet has room for up to 5 athletes (e.g. Senior Men) with a space for Lap 1 and lap 2 for each athlete. Please remember that a CUMMULATIVE time for each 1500 metre lap MUST be recorded.
Race 3 (U15 Grades) will be over one 2000 metre lap per athlete. A different Team Results Sheet is available for this event – it has the Grade already filled in and has room for filling In the CUMMULATIVE lap times for each of the 4 athletes.
We will supply Results sheets in the Race Packs but if you want to complete them before you come then please print your own copy/copies.
ACA Relays are
- a great event to start the cross country season,
- inter club rivalry to take out the fastest lap, fastest team and (what it is all about) closest to estimated time,
- an opportunity to introduce new people to our sport as 2018 AAI registration is not required for this event.
Sacred Heart College, Entry via Gate 4 West Tamaki Rd, 14 April 2018 for the ACA Relays.
Junior Athletes do not need to be Registered for this event. It is a Teams event but if you do not have the numbers then athletes can run individually in the first lap and still qualify for spot prizes or make up teams with another club. Contact email@example.com with any questions.
